The Holocaust And The Nazi Era Essay - 1956 Words
This is something that I really had an interest in. This project assignment really gave me the chance to dig deeper and do more research on the Holocaust and how the Jews were treated during WWII and during the 13th and 14th century in Europe. What happened during the Holocaust was such a horrible thing, but it makes me appreciate everything in todayââ¬â¢s world. The treatment of Jews in WWII was very horrible during the Holocaust. The Holocaust was the killing of six million European Jews, by Adolf Hitler. The word Holocaust comes from the Greek origin, meaning ââ¬Å"sacrifice by fire.â⬠The Naziââ¬â¢s had the idea in their head that the Germans were racially superior, while the Jews on the other hand were a lesser race and were supposedly, a threat to the survival of Germany. The term Anti-Semitism, which means hatred of Jews, has always been used throughout Germany and Europe, but it really got bad between the years 1933-1945. The time between 1933 and 1945 can be known as the Nazi era. The Naziââ¬â¢s believed that people in the category of ââ¬Å"Untermenschenâ⬠, which meant subhuman, could be treated cruelly. The people that were classified into the category of ââ¬Å"Untermenschenâ⬠included: Gypsies (Roma), Poles and Russians (Slavs), and the mentally and physically disabled. There were other people who if they disagreed with the Naziââ¬â¢s way of leadership of organization, then they would too be tormented, arrested, and killed. These other people included those of communists, socialists,Show MoreRelatedThe World Of The Holocaust1151 Words à |à 5 Pagesthis is the genocide know as the Holocaust. Along with BLMââ¬â¢s extensive action since 2012, their coupled agenda can address the issues of today. A movement cannot have an agenda without leaders. Martin Luther King Jr. is seen by many as a symbol of leadership for the fight for racial equality. Local leaders and organizations of the BLM include Black Youth Project 100, the Dream Defenders, the Organization for Black Struggle, Hands Up United, Millennial Activists United, and the Black Lives Matter national network (ââ¬Å"11 Major Misconceptionsâ⬠). Ninety-three percent of black murder victims are killed by other black people. And is it a lso the same for whites, eighty-four percent of white murder victims are killed by other white people (ââ¬Å"11 Major Misconceptionsâ⬠). Those who focus on black-on-black crime use it as a diversionary tactic to take down the BLM movement by suggesting that black people do not have the right to be outraged about police violence in vulnerable black communities. The BLM movement acknowledges the crime problem but refuses to locate that the crime problem is a problem of black pathology. Black people are inherently more violent or be involved in more crime than other groups. But black people are more disproportionately poorer, more likely to be targeted by police and arrested, and more likely to attend poorer or failing schools (ââ¬Å"11 Major Misconceptionsâ⬠). Self Assesment And Personality Development - Myassignmenthelp.Com
Question: Discuss about the Self Assesment And Personality Development. Answer: Self Assessment In this report there will be a self assessment and an analysis of my future growth opportunities. I begin this report with a self analysis template as provided below: Past and Background Details Bachelors of Business in Accounting Short term Goals Getting a Job in Accountancy Profile Long term Goals Establishing Myself in life. Having my own house, car and a handsome salary with added incentives. Heading an Accounting team or becoming a director or Chairmen of a Company. Opportunities Lots of Financial Firms opening with growth and Development of Business. According to general market survey, Accounting firms in Australia were valued at $20 billion in 2016 and there has been an average annual growth of 2.6% between 2012 and 2017. An accountant generally earns on an average $55464 per year but the recent growth in Accounting Industry will increase this estimate. Financial and Personal Goals I want to earn a salary of around $80000 in a reputed Company. Another goal of mine is to work in such a way that my work earns me recognition and I also want to get promotions as early as possible in my Career. Work-Life balance Maximum 10 hours of work in lean season and it can extend to 12 hours in peak season. Ideally I would like to work within the above mention time frame but if my work requires me to work overtime for a day or two, I would not mind. Communication Skills I would judge myself good in informal style of communications. However in a firm Professionalism is to be maintained therefore Formal communication skills needs to be developed. Unique Ability I consider myself to be hardworking, honest but the ability which sets me out is the knack of picking up things quickly and adapt. Personal Development Plan I am presently working in a restaurant as an Assistant Manager. I want to get an accounting profile job in a reputable company. For achieving the above goal I will be preparing a Personal Development Plan which will be divided in steps and it is given below (McGrath, 2014): Step 1: Requirements of becoming an accountants. The first and obvious requirement is to get an accounting degree and become a graduate in the field of commerce or business. The second requirement is optional that a person should have some working experience in the field of Accountant. Attaining a master degree really provides value to the name. This again is not a necessity but is optional. Another optional requirement can be getting a certificate showing that a person is fit for the job of an accountant. As per the requirements mentioned above, I fulfil the first requirement as I have a valid degree of Bachelors of business in Accounting. In the second requirement it is required that some working experience is necessary but I do not have any working experience in any firm as an Accountant. I am currently working in a Restaurant as an Assistant Manager. Then the next requirement is an optional which is to have a master degree. I currently do not possess a master degree but if it will increase my chances in getting a better job profile in Accountant field than I can pursue a distance learning course from a university. The last requirement states that a person who has a certificate from a professional institute has more chances of getting a similar job. This is also optional. Step 2: Analysing My Strength and Areas of development. In this step I will analysis the strengths I possess which can help me in the role of an accountant in future. The areas of my strength are discussed below Good in Calculations: The job of an accountant requires a person to be exceptionally good with numbers. He should be able to calculate any sum and be systematic towards the representation of the data. I believe that I am up for this as this too is my strengths, I am an Assistant Manager of a restaurant therefore occasionally I check the Sales record for any discrepancies. Therefore I have some experience on such matters. Problem Solving Ability: I am actually very good in solving problems and am a quick learner. In my current job, I face problems which might be related to cash shortage or problem of absent employee problem, Complaints about the quality of food or bad presentation day in and day out. I feel that I deal with these problems effectively. An accounting profile job is challenging but I think I can handle any situation that comes before me. Hardworking: Most of my co-workers and even my boss feel that I am hard working and honest. I feel that if in any field a person is honest towards his work than he will succeed no matter where he works. Now the areas where I think I can improve and develop more are given below: Communication Skills: As I have stated earlier my communications skill is good. I feel there is still scope for improvement. In an accountant job profile, there will be situations where the Accountant needs to communicate with the clients or external party or suppliers even. There is still lack of confidence in me which I feel I can improve on as confidence is also an important factor of smooth communication. Expertise Area: I have never worked for any accounting job profiles therefore it is natural that I might lack in certain areas which a trained or experienced person might not lack. This will come with experience and I think I will improve on this as well. Step 3: SMART Action Plan The third step involves developing and implementing an action plan with SMART technique. The analysis is given below: 1. Specific I need improvement in my Communication skills. I need more confidence when I am handling any problem which can be solved by effective communication skills. 2. Measureable Acquiring knowledge of the current accounting norms and practices as well as dealing with a problem more confidently. Experience in Accounts can be achieved through maintaining and checking books of accounts which I will be doing for my restaurant in mean time. 3. Attainable I will be acquiring knowledge of Standards of Accounting by the end of this month and will be trying for my Masters degree in distance education system which will be available in a years time. This degree will definitely help me to get a better post like team head or supervisor in an accounting firm. 4. Relevant My goals of becoming an Accountant and establishing myself will be impacted by my level of skill in the field which I think I will have after my Masters completion. 5.Time bound I will be achieving my goals within five years of time interval including my goals of establishing myself in life, having my own house. My aim will be to head a Accounting team in a five years time. Gaps between Self Assessment and Personal Development Plan These are the gaps in my plan where I believe I can improve. The following are given below: Firstly I have already pointed out that my communication skills need improvement. The job profile which I have in mind will be requiring excellent communication skills. Secondly I have also pointed out that I do not currently possess the expertise which is necessary for an accountant but I believe as per my personal development plan I can overcome this gap. Lastly I feel there will be a lot of competition for this job profile. In modern era it is quite a popular job profile. Therefore it is not going to be easy getting my desired profile Plan for Achieving My Goals My goals are set which are to establish myself in life, earn a good salary, have my own house, and lead an Accounting team in a well reputed firm. In order to achieve these I will follow the follow steps: I have knowledge that nowadays Accountants have moved from traditional methods of accounting to Modern practices which uses Computer programs like Tally, Excel. I think taking classes from Youtube will be helpful for learning tally or excel. I feel if I possess knowledge of such software then it will give me a tactical edge. Another way of getting experience is by doing a part time job for low salary in an Accounting firm as an intern. This will elevate my confidence and help me in my future goals. As per Maslows Need Theory, this measure will addresses my Esteem needs and provide me confidence and even recognition ( Kaur 2013). My life will be hectic if I follow the above part time job plan but its worth it, the key is to have a ideal work-life balance keeping my honesty towards my work. Another aspect is the will to continue in order to achieve my goals. References Kaur, A. (2013). Maslows need hierarchy theory: Applications and criticisms.Global Journal of Management and Business Studies,3(10), 1061-1064. McGrath, M. (2014). Personal development plan.Leading the Way,11(1), 21.
